Recent Sheriff Letters Not A Scam

You may have recently gotten a letter in the mail with Sheriff CJ Ball’s name on it. The sheriff’s office has gotten numerous inquiries about the mailings. The sheriff’s office says that mailing is from the Tennessee Sheriff’s Association and is NOT from the Cocke County Sheriff’s office. The letter however is not a scam, it is legit. The sheriff’s office says that the Tennessee Sheriff’s Assoc. is a big non-profit that works with the police chiefs association in order for sheriffs to have a voice in legislation, and decisions that could help their community. The sheriff’s association puts on trainings for sheriffs across the state to help better the communication between themm and other agencies. The funds that are received from those letters goes to the Tennessee Sheriff’s Assoc. and not the Cocke County Sheriff’s department.
