Sean Williams Sentenced
Sean Williams, who was convicted last November on child pornography charges, will spend the rest of his life in prison. Judge Ronnie Greer, in Federal Court in Greeneville this morning, handed down close to the maximum sentence against Sean Williams. Judge Greer sentenced the former Johnson City businessman to 95 years in federal prison. 53 year old Williams had been convicted last November on three counts of enticing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purposes of manufacturing child pornography. In passing sentence this morning, Judge Greer said “A civilized society cannot survive if it allows predators like Mr. Williams to exploit and abuse the most vulnerable of its members”. With the 95 year prison sentence, Williams would have to live to be about 148 years old before he could be released from prison. Williams is to be transferred to a federal prison in Ohio to serve his sentence.
Williams say he plans to appeal his conviction. He still faces state charges in Washington County relating to the child pornography charges.
