Sevier County Inmate Dead After Jail Altercation

The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of an inmate that died after an altercation in the Sevier County Jail. Gary Dewayne Stiltner II was the inmate injured in the fight in the E Dorm of the Sevier County Jail Annex Tuesday night. Sheriff Michael Hodges says that Stiltner was taken to the LeConte Medical Center after he got into a fistfight with inmate Shay Vincent Spell. Stiltner was pronounced dead at the hospital. Charges could be filed against Spell once an inveswtigation is completed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
