Sevierville Police Arrest Pair In Million Dollar Target Store Theft
The Sevierville Police Department says they have arrested two individuals who have stolen over $1 million from Target. Sevierville PD says they stopped two men Sunday night after a report of shoplifting at the Target store on Winfield Dunn Parkway in Sevierville.
After arresting the pair, they found the two were involved in a scheme that has defrauded Target stores out of over a million dollars. Arrested were 30 year old Michael Upshaw, Jr. and 20 year old Queshon Barkus II. Both men are from the Detroit, Michigan area. Each of them now faces charges including Organized Retail Crime; Money Laundering; Manufacture/delivery/sale/possession of a controlled substance; and Theft. Upshaw is also charged with Fugitive From Justice; Resisting Arrest; and Impersonation of Identity.
The Sevierville Police Department says the investigation is in its early stages, but spans multiple states and additional charges could be filed.
