Sheriff’s Office Investigating Garage Break-in

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office is looking for a man who pulled a knife on another man over the weekend. The victim, Joe Shults told the sheriff’s office he had seen a man inside his garage Saturday morning around 10:45am. Shults stated he had several pictures on his security system of a white male with a thin beard and mustache. Shults says he called for police then confronted the man who had come out of the garage. The suspect denied being in the garage but when Shults mentioned the security camera, the suspect went to reach for something in his pocket. Shults stated that he struck the suspect in the face out of fear that the suspect was going to pull a weapon. the suspect was knocked to the ground, but produced a large knife he then swung at Shults before fleeing. Numerous tools and tool boxes were taken from the garage, ut most were found behind it. The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident.
