Shoplifter Arrested With Out of State Warrants

A woman with warrants from 2 other states was arrested at the Newport Wal-Mart for attempting to return items she had not paid for. The woman first attempted to return items with a receipt from a Wal-Mart in Morristown. When the clerk asked for her ID to complete the refund, the woman ran from the store…but later returned with more items to try to return for a refund. Newport police were called and the woman was taken to the Cocke County Jail…however, a corrections officer at the jail later found that she had given arresting officers her sister’s name instead of her own. She was actually 44 year old Summer J. Waterman who had outstanding warrants against her in both Arizona and Indiana.
