Structure Destroyed By Fire
Firefighters from Cocke County, Parrottsville and Chesnut Hill responded Friday night (6/23) to a structure fire on Paintbrush Road in Cocke County. Authorities were told that someone may have still been in the home when it caught fire. That structure was fully engulfed when firefighters and police arrived. The Cocke County sheriff’s department spoke with a witness who stated there was no power to that structure and no extension cords had been run to it. Several squatters had been seen living in the building, but that there was no one inside at the time of the fire. The owner of the building stated he did not know how the fire started, but one witness stated that one of the people who had been staying inside the building may have lit a candle. The structure collapsed from the damage from the fire.
