Student Charged With “Threats Of Mass Violence”
Sevierville Police have arrested a student for making a threat against a staff member. According to police, the student attends Northview Junior Academy and on Wednesday posted a ” menacing message” on social media that was directed towards a school staff member. Police began investigating Wednesday evening, and when school opened this morning, as a precaution, a police presence was on hand. The student in question was then taken into custody. That student, whose identity was not released as they are a juvenile, has been charged with making threats of mass violence on school property or school related events. No further information, such as the nature of the threat was released.
