Tennessee Dealt Aces For Super Regional

Monday afternoon the Tennessee Vols learned who they would be facing in the NCAA Super Regional. In Greenville, NC yesterday the Evansville Aces, who were the #4 seed, defeated East Carolina 6-5 to win the Greenville Regional. They will now head to Knoxville as the Vols will host the Super Regional. Tennessee will host Evansville either Friday or Saturday at Lindsay Nelson Stadium. The NCAA is expected to announce the date and start times for the Super Regional matchups Tuesday morning. The Super Regional is a best of three series.

The Vols are the overall number one seed in the tournament. Evansville is just the ninth #4 seed to win a regional since 1999. This is their first ever trip to the Super Regional. The winner of the Super Regional will advance to the College World Series in Omaha which begins one week from Friday, June 14.
