Tennessee Headed To Music City Bowl
The Tennessee Vols are headed to Nashville to celebrate the new year. The Vols found out on Sunday that they have punched their ticket to the Music City Bowl in Nashville on Tuesday December 30. Tennessee will take on the Fighting Illini of Illinois. Losses to Oklahoma and Vanderbilt cost Tennessee their chance to go to the college football playoff for the second year in a row. The Vols get the Music City Bowl as a consolation prize. Both teams finished the season at 8-4.
Vanderbilt, who had the first 10 win season in school history are heading to Florida. Vandy will take on Iowa in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa, Florida on December 31.
As for the College Football Playoff, Indiana has the top seed after defeating Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship. The Hoosiers are the only undefeated team left in Division 1. SEC teams, Alabama will take on Oklahoma in Norman on December 19; Ole Miss hosts Tulane on December 20; Texas A&M hosts Miami on the 20th; Georgia gets a bye for the first round.
