Tennessee Lottery Announces Record Revenues
You hear commercials for the Tennessee Lottery on WNPC…and they must be catching your ear….as the Tennessee Lottery announced on Monday that for the first quarter of this fiscal year…July 1st through September 30th…the lottery reported $501.8 million in revenue…that is the highest of any quarter in the lottery’s 17 year history. A total of $118 million was transferred to the Lottery for Education Account for the first quarter of the 2022 fiscal year….the lottery also generated over $4.3 million for after-school programs in the quarter. In its history, the lottery has raised over $6.1 billion for designated education programs, including college grants, scholarships. The lottery made its debut in January of 2004.
