Tennessee Plates Now Being Seen By Cameras
Tennessee’s problem with its new license plates may now be fixed. The company that makes cameras to aid law enforcement in finding stolen vehicles and missing people has come up with a solution for the problem with Tennessee’s new license plates not being able to be seen by license plate recognition cameras. Flock Safety says that Tennessee’s new plates are not as reflective as the old plates and the cameras depend on that reflectivity to see the plate. The company says they have changed the algorithm in their cameras and they are getting reports from law enforcement that the cameras are now seeing the new Tennessee plates. A spokesman for Flock Safety says they had to retrain their cameras to see the new plates. They have asked that the state of Tennessee to send them a sample of any new plates so that they can avoid any issues like this in the future.
