Tennessee Stays Below National Average For Gas Prices
Gas prices continue to rise. The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $4.98…getting awfully close to that $5 mark. In Tennessee, we are quite a bit lower that the national average as the price in the state is $4.59 on average. You may have noticed prices dipped just a little, especially at exit 435 in Newport. Prices in Cocke County are averaging about $4.50 a gallon. Prices are about the same in Greene County and Sevier County. However in Hamblen and Jefferson Counties you’ll pay about 10 cents a gallon more as their average price is about $4.59…right at the state’s average. If you will be traveling into North Carolina, prices are about the same as they are here in Tennessee.
