Tennessee Vols Head To Round 2, Lady Vols Ready For First Round

The Tennessee Vols are moving on to round 2 of the NCAA Tournament. The Vols trailed 6-5 early in the game, but then Chaz Lanier began doing what he does best…scoring., A three pointer fromj Lanier put the Vols up 8-6 and they never looked back. The Tennessee senior led all scorers with 29 points. Zakai Ziegler added a double double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Vols take down the Wofford Terriers 77-62. The Vols will now face UCLA in the second round Saturday night. The Bruins are the #7 seed in the Midwest Regional. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:40pm Saturday.

The SEC had 14 teams in the men’s tournament. Two of them went down Thursday. Missouri lost to Drake and Georgia fell to Gonzaga. Auburn, Arkansas, and Texas A&M will join Tennessee in the second round Saturday.

The Tennessee Lady Vols will have their first round in the women’s tournament today. #5 seed Lady Vols will take on #12 seed South Florida tonight at 8pm. That game will be on ESPN.
