Tennova Launches E-Mail Series To Increase A Person’s Longevity
Statistics show that people are living longer than normal, but that age is coming at a cost for many. According to the CDC, Americans’ average lifespan is longer than ever – 74.8 years for men and 80 for women. But Americans’ healthspan – how long a person is healthy and free of disease – that is what is actually decreasing. Baby Boomers, those born between 1946 and 1964, are more likely than their parents to develop one of a laundry list of maladies like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, and mobility difficulties.
Tennova Healthcare has developed a new initiative designed to empower people in the community to live longer and healthier lives. It’s called “Enjoy the Ride: Navigating a Longer, Healthier Life”. This is a FREE 12-day, longevity-focused email series that will launch in September. Daily road trip-themed emails will include information about conditions most prevalent with aging, ways to prevent those diseases, and descriptions of how healthy choices can impact longevity. Dr. Faud Chaudhry, a cardiology provider with Tennova Medical Group, says longevity takes into account not only a person’s chronological age, but their biological age as well. He says with informed, proactive choices, at age 80, a person essentially could have the level of a persdon the age of 60. To sign up for the Enjoy The Ride e-mail series, just go to the website Tennova.com/longevity. The e-mail series will launch on Sept. 15.
