THP Looking For Vehicle Involved In Hit And Run
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run crash Saturday night in the Parrottsville area. The accident happened around 7:45 pm near the 1900 block of US 321. The THP says they believe the vehicle was a 2011-2013 Ford Fiesta that was driving in the outside lane heading southbound. For unknown reasons, the suspect vehicle left the outside lane crossing over the fog line and into the right hand shoulder of the highway. That is when that vehicle struck a bicyclist from behind that was traveling on the shoulder. The bicycle had front and rear reflectors as well as front and rear lights. The bicyclist, 19 year old Tristian Knight of South Carolina, was injured and transported to the hospital.
The Highway Patrol says the vehicle they are looking for will have right front head light and fog light damage. The vehicle was last seen traveling south on US 321 towards Newport and once again is believed to be a 2011-2013 Ford Fiesta. Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, has dash camera or security camera footage, or may have seen a vehicle matching that description in the area around the time of the incident to contact the THP. You should contact the lead investigator, Trooper Nathan Pearson, at 865-895-6950, or *THP (*847). Callers can remain anonymous.
