Three Arrested For 4-Wheeler Thefts In Del Rio
Cocke County deputies were called early Friday morning, June 20, to an area of Del Rio about two stolen four-wheelers. The victim told 911 he was chasing three individuals who had stolen the 4 wheelers from his home. 911 was later called by an individual stating that the victim was holding one of the suspects at gunpoint till deputies arrived. The victim was found with the suspect sitting on the side of a bridge on Old Fifteenth in Del Rio.
The suspect, 37 year old William Harris of Dandridge, told the sheriff’s office he had been contacted by one of the other suspects, 42 year old Richard Carnal, who asked Harris to help him pick up two four wheelers in Del Rio. Carnal told him the vehicles belonged to him but were being worked on at the location in Del Rio. Carnal told him the last time he was at the address in del Rio, the owner had pulled a gun on him so he wanted to go before sunrise.
Harris told deputies that Carnal was on the other 4 wheeler headed to Bybee and the truck they arrived in was being driven by Carnal’s girlfriend, Shauna Valentine. Both Carnal and Valentine were found in Bybee at a camper. When Carnal opened his camper door, he released a dog to try to attack deputies. The dog had to be tased to protect deputies. Carnal and Harris are being charged with Theft of Property over $1,000. Valentine is being charged with Accessory after the fact for driving the truck away.
