Three Arrested For Marijuana Possession
The Cocke County Sheriff’s office was called Tuesday to Northwest Elementary School. A man had been spotted by school staff sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot. They suspected the man was intoxicated. A Cocke County deputy made contact with the driver, 28 year old Patrick Centers of Newport who appeared to be under the influence. Centers gave permission for his vehicle to be searched and deputies found a clear baggie containing what was suspected to be Marijuana. They also located a silver and black pipe that is commonly used to smoke illegal narcotics. Centers had just under an ounce of marijuana. He was arrested and charged with possession of schedule VI narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Two women were also arrested Tuesday for possession of marijuana after they were found during a traffic stop with 6 grams of marijuana in a bag in a plastic container and 12 more grams in a bag and marijuana grinder. The two women, 31 year old Ashley Reno and 51 year old Kristina Davis were both charged with possession of schedule VI.
