Tinted Windows Leads To Drug Related Arrests
Tinted windows led to the arrest of two people over the weekend in Newport. Police say they pulled over a vehicle Saturday afternoon in the Western Plaza Shopping Center. The tint on the windows was darker than what is legally allowed in the state of Tennessee. The driver of the vehicle, 31 year old Adam Llewellyn agreed to a search of the vehicle and officers found a cigarette pack in the drivers side door containing methamphetamine. The passenger was 24 year old Julia Loyd. A search of her side of the vehicle turned up a jar with syringes and two glass pipes, with residue consistent with the use of illegal narcotics. Officers also found a grinder and wooden pipe used for smoking marijuana. Llewellyn faces charges of schedule II possession. Loyd was charged with possession of illegal drug paraphernalia.
