TN Board Of Regents Selects New President For WSCC
Walters State Community College officially has a new president. On Thursday (8/7) the Tennessee Board of Regents announced that they have appointed Dr. Saul Reyes to be the 5th president in the history of Walters State. Reyes, who has more than 35 years of experience in higher education, is currently the Vice President for Enrollment Management at the College Of Central Florida. Reyes has degrees in education leadership and in counseling from the University of South Florida and West Virginia University. Dr. Reyes’ aoppointment from the Tennessee Board of Regents was unanimous. His first official day on the job will be September 8.
Walters State began looking for a new president when Dr. Tony Miska left in June to become the president of Johnson County Community College in Kansas. Dr. Tom Sewell has been serving as interim president since Miska’s departure.
