Traffic Stop Leads To 3 Arrests
A traffic stop Friday afternoon led to the arrests of three people. A Ford Taurus was observed by police weaving back and forth on Hwy 25/70. That vehicle was pulled over in the parking lot of Ace Hardware. The driver, 52 year old Lance Pierce stated that he was attempting to light a cigarette which caused him to swerve in traffic. Pierce agreed to a search of his person and the vehicle. During the search, a gram of methamphetamine and several pills were found in Pierce’s possession. The backseat passenger, 57 year old James McGill was spotted with a loaded syringe behind his back. When officers inquired about the syringe, McGill pushed the plunger and forced the fluid out of the syringe, claiming it was water. He was also found to be in possession of Buprenorphine without a prescription. Pierce was charged with possession of schedule II and schedule IV possession. McGill was charged with possession schedule III and tampering with evidence. A woman in the front passenger seat, identified as 49 year old Ann Holt had a warrant for her arrest and was taken into custody as well.
