Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest
A traffic stop on I-40 Wednesday morning netted a drug arrest. Cocke County deputy Randy Forbes was dispatched for a possible drunk driver at the Shell on at Hwy 25-70 and Hwy 411. That vehicle, a red suzuki was blocking gas pumps as the driver was falling asleep…that vehicle suddenly took off eventually heading eastbound on I-40…Deputy Forbes initiated a traffic stop and found the driver Brian Rines of Dandridge to be at the wheel driving on a revoked license. Rines also had a bag with a gray substance lying on the passenger seat…that substance was consistent with being heroin. Deputies also found 13 suboxone, digital scales and other drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Rines now faces possession of a schedule 1 substance.
