Tri-County Police Pursuit Results In Three Arrests
A multi-county pursuit after an attempted traffic stop in Knoxville, left part of I-40 closed in Sevier County Wednesday night. Knox County authorities say that a deputy attempted a traffic stop in Knoxville, but the vehicle refused to pull over. That began a chase of the suspects that crossed into both Jefferson and Sevier Counties. During the pursuit, suspects in the vehicle could be seen throwing two guns out of the car. The pursuit came to an end when spike strips were deployed on I-40 near Exit 407 to bring the suspect’s vehicle to a halt. Drugs were found in the vehicle and three people were taken into custody. According to law enforcement, the drug arrests are related to the 313 Initiative.
That now makes the amount of people arrested with the 313 Initiative to 11 individuals in less than a week.
