Trial Date Now Set For James Raspberry

A trial date is now set for the Del Rio man who shot and killed his neighbor last September. At his arraignment this week, James Raspberry pled not guilty to the charges against him. Those charges stem from the killing of 35 year old Joseph Carter of Del Rio in his own driveway. Investigators say that Raspberry shot and killed Carter on September 13, 2021 while Carter was sitting in his van in his driveway. His daughters, one of them less than a year old were in the vehicle with him and were unharmed physically. Trial date for Raspberry has been set for November 30th. He is being charged with numerous crimes including first degree murder. Pre-trial motions are set for August 16th.
