TVA Hosting “Open House” For Douglas Lake Residents
The TVA has announced an “open house” with several other agencies to discuss the options that owners of property along Douglas Lake have in clearing up debris caused by the recent flood. The flood and runoff into the three rivers that feed into Douglas Lake left a massive amount of debris floating in the lake in the aftermath of the storm. Several weeks ago, the TVA set a mile long boom out onto the lake to catch that debris. However, as the water level of the lake has gone down, a significant amount of debris is now on the shoreline of those who own homes along the lake.
On November 25, from 6 to 8pm, the TVA will host the open house at the Field of Dreams Activity Center at 1145 Treadway Dr. in Dandridge. Among the agencies that will be on hand with the TVA are the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency; the US Army Corp of Engineers; The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation; the US Environmental Protection Agency; and the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency. All who own homes along Douglas Lake are encouraged to attend. The TVA and the TWRA still have a boating advisory out for Douglas Lake due to the floating debris still on the lake.
