TVA Reports Peak Summer Power Usage Last Week
It was really hot last week and the TVA says the power usage reflected those high temperatures. The Tennessee Valley Authority says Thursday’s heat led to them hitting their highest usage for the summer that day. Across the seven state region that TVA serves, they reached 31,096 megawatts of power during the heat of the day. Temperatures approached 100 that day. Back in June, the TVA says they reached 28,000 megawatts of power usage for seven straight days. That’s below the power usage on August 29.
According to the TVA, the record peak usage for the summer was in hit in August 2007, when power usage hit 33,500 megawatts.
