Two Men In Custody For Selling Methamphetamines
Two men are now in custody after being arrested for selling methamphetamine. Police were notified by residents in the Clifton Heights area about a dark blue Ford Crown Victoria driving through that area several times Wednesday evening (1/28). Newport police followed the vehicle onto North Street as it finally made its way to southbound Cosby Hwy. The Crown Vic pulled into the In and Out Market at Cosby Hwy and Hedrick Drive, but did not enter the business. Police then followed the vehicle onto Cosby Hwy again with the driver and passenger acting suspiciously. After the vehicle pulled into the Newport Smoke shop parking lot, an officer approached the car and spotted drug paraphernalia with the passenger.
The passenger identified as 27 year old Ernest Miller. He was in possession of a cloth bag that contained multiple clear baggies of what was suspected to be methamphetamine. More methamphetamine was found under the driver’s seat, which had been occupied by 38 year old Oscar Tozer. He was also in possession of $420 in small bills consistent with the sale of narcotics. All total the two men were in possession of over 4 ounces of methamphetamine. Both are charged with possession, manufacture, sale or delivery of schedule II narcotics.
