Two Neighboring Communities Say Yes To Liquor
Two Jefferson County cities are now going to get something they haven’t had in the past, liquor stores. Both White Pine and Dandridge passed referendums that were on the November 5 ballot to allow liquor stores within the city limits. Those who live in White Pine and Dandridge who wanted to buy liquor have had to come to Newport or Morristown. Proponents of the referendums say that they want to see those individuals not have to leave those city limits to quench their thirst for alcohol. The city councils for both White Pine and Dandridge are now going to be tasked with how liquor licenses will be granted and how the new policy will be implemented
