Two-Time Olympic Champion Edwin Moses Speaks At WCCC
As part of black history month, Walters State is welcoming one of the greatest athletes of all time to their Morristown campus. Two-time Olympic champion Edwin Moses will speak at 1 p.m. in the Lyceum, located in the Dr. Wade B. McCamey Student Services Building on Monday, February 17. As a hurdler, Moses won his first gold medal at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, setting the world record in the process. He then broke his own record several times before winning his second gold medal at the 1984 Olympics held in Los Angeles.
During his Walters State visit, Edwin Moses will present his documentary “Moses – 13 Steps”, which tells the story behind his historic winning streak and his coming up with his method of calculating the optimal number of steps between hurdles, which was 13. The public is invited to attend the event, which is free.
