US House High School Art Competition Now Open
US Rep. Diana Harshbarger has announced the annual Congressional Art Competition. This longstanding competition gives high school students from across the nation the opportunity to display their original art in the halls of Congress. This is an annual nationwide high school arts competition is sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives.
This competition is open to all high school students, grades 9-12 in the first congressional district. The artwork, when framed, can be no larger than 26 inches high, 26 inches wide, and 4 inches deep and cannot weigh more than 15 pounds. The winning artwork from the first district will be announced at a reception hosted by Rep. Harshbarger in May and will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol alongside the winning artwork from all participating congressional districts from around the country. The winning artwork will also be featured on House.gov’s Congressional Art Competition page.
Students can submit their artwork and get all the details by going to the website www.harshbarger.house.gov/services/art-competition.
The deadline to submit artwork is Friday, April 4, at 3:00 PM.
