UT Men & Women Go Dancing
Rick Barnes and his Tennessee Volunteers know where they will be heading in the NCAA Tournament. The Vols are the #2 seed in the Midwest Region. Their first game comes Thursday in Charlotte, NC. against 15 seed Saint Peters Peacocks. If you want to watch the game, you’ll have to stay up late. Tip-off is at 9:25pm. This is the 4th time in program history that Tennessee has been a #2 seed in the tournament. They have never made it past the Sweet 16 as a #2 seed.
All total, eight SEC teams made it to the dance. Kentucky is the #3 seed in the south regional. The others are Auburn…the 4 seed in the East…Alabama…the 4 seed in the west…also South Carolina, Mississippi State, Florida and Texas A&M.
In the women’s bracket, Kellie Harpers’ Lady Vols are headed to the Portland Region as the #6 seed. They will play Green Bay on Saturday March 23 at noon. The Lady Vols remain the only program to never miss an NCAA Tournament. Other SEC schools dancing in the women’s tournament are number one overall seed South Carolina; Alabama; Texas A&M; Ole Miss; LSU; Vanderbilt and Auburn are in the first four play-in games.
