Vols Closer To Going To OMAHA
The Tennessee Volunteers baseball team is one step closer to heading to Omaha for the second straight year. It took a 9th inning rally, but the Vols won the NCAA Knoxville Regional last night. The Vols entered the 9th inning trailing the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, but Jordan Beck doubled to center and drove in the tying run…knotting the score at 4. The Vols then took the lead and tacked on going on to post a 9-6 win over Georgia Tech to win the Regional. The day before on Saturday, the Vols set the Vols’ single season wins record at 55…with the win over Georgia Tech, the Vols now sit at 56-7. The #1 seeded Vols will now face Notre Dame in the Super Regional this weekend in Knoxville. It is a best of three game series. Times for those games will be released early this week.
