Vols Season Ends Without Trip To Omaha

And the season for the Tennessee Vols is over. UT dropped the first game of a three game series to Notre Dame Friday night in the Super Regional. The Vols rebounded in a big way Saturday afternoon and defeated the Fighting Irish to force a game 3 yesterday at Lindsey Nelson stadium. However it was The Irish hitting the homers Sunday, including back to back home runs in the 7th inning that put Notre Dame up for good 4-3. Their bullpen would hold the Vols scoreless the rest of the way and Tennessee’s magical season comes to an end with a 7-3 loss. Notre Dame now moves on to Omaha…and Tennessee begins the baseball off-season. UT finished their greatest season ever with a 57-9 record.
