Warrant Issued For Domestic Assault

Morristown police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a man who assaulted a pregnant woman Wednesday. Officers arrived at the residence on Willow Green Drive and were met by the victim, 19 year old Marissa Sims. Sims stated that she and her boyfriend, 22 year old Matthew Becerra had gotten into a verbal argument and that is when he grabbed her by the stomach and arms and threw her to the ground. Sims, who is 10 weeks pregnant began yelling for him to stop but hew put his hands over her mouth to shut her up. He also struck her in the shins multiple times and grabbed her arms. Police noted signs of physical violence upon Sims. EMS responded to check her out, but she denied transport to the hospital. Becerra had fled before police arrived, a warrant has been issued for his arrest for domestic assault.
