Woman Arrested For Disorderly Conduct

A Cocke county woman, under the influence of narcotics that had threatened to kill her parents was arrested over the weekend in Newport. Deputy Alex Reese went to the home Saturday night where he was told by the home’s owner that his daughter, 42 year old Misty Lawson, was being combative towards he and his wife. Misty Lawson shoed up at the front door and told Deputy Reese to leave, but the father let him in. Lawson was irate saying her parents had called the cops on her. Lawson’s father relaying to Deputy Reese that he and his wife were afraid of what their daughter might do in her frame of mind, as she had threatened to stab them in their sleep. Misty Lawson, who has a history of drug use, was taken to the Cocke County jail for Disorderly Conduct. Upon booking, she was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. A charge of Introduction Into a Penal Facility is pending against her.
