Woman Arrested For Heroin Possession

Wednesday afternoon Cocke County deputy Joshua Boyce observed a woman thought to be wanted on outstanding warrants at the Marathon Quikstop at 372 W Broadway in Newport. Megan Finchum had 3 active warrants against her. Finchum was placed into custody and in Finchum’s pocket Boyce found a metal pill container. When asked if there was anything inside and Finchum advised the deputy that there was Heroine inside of it. Two clear baggies with suspected heroine along with a clear blue baggie with powder residue were inside that container….a total of .9mgs of heroin were found. Finchum was transported to the Cocke County Jail Annex where she was charged with possession of schedule I narcotics.
