Woman Charged With Assaulting Her Mother
A Cocke County woman is in jail after she assualted her mother. The incident took place at a home in the Bybee area on Wednesday (2/11). A woman called 911 saying she had been assaulted by her daughter. Deputies arrived with EMS and found 70 year old Connie Fowler bleeding from several lacerations on her head. She told deputies that she and her daughter, Tami Fowler, had gotten into an argument. When Connie went to walk away, she says her 38 year old daughter struck her in the back of the head with an object. Tami Fowler then proceeded to stomp on her mother’s head while she was on the floor. Deputies recovered an AT&T Land Line box with blood on it that was used as the weapon Tami Fowler used to hit her mother.
Tami Fowler had left the home by the time law enforcement arrived, but returned to the home later. Deputies then took Fowler into custody. She is charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault and Aggravated Neglect of a Vulnerable Adult. She was also found to be wanted on a Violation of Probation charge.
