Woman Involved In Monkey Torture Videos Sentenced

A Greeneville woman who was involved with an online group that distributed videos depicting sexual abuse and horrific torture of monkeys will be spending over three years in prison. Katrina Favret of Greeneville was part of a group that helped direct money to individuals in Indonesia who would create what are called animal crush videos. The individuals in Indonesia were told what acts of torture the customer wanted to see inflicted on the monkeys.

Favret plead guilty back in November to conspiracy to create and distribute animal crush videos. On Thursday, a federal judge in US District Court in Greeneville sentenced Favret to 40 months in prison and three years of probation to follow after her release.
