2 Thefts in Newport

25 year old Alexas Bailey called Newport police to her apartment on Dykes Street in Newport. She told police that a friend of hers, Dustin James had come into her apartment while she was sleeping and stole around $300 in cash. James has denied stealing the money and no arrests have been made in that case.

Thursday afternoon Newport police responded to a call at the Econolodge motel from 49 year old Doug Green who told the officer that he had returned to the motel after working at around 7:30 yesterday and had parked his 1986 gray Chevy S-10 pickup on the west side side of the motel. At 1pm yesterday he noticed that the vehicle was missing. Tags on that vehicle are from Tennessee…plate number 7U54K9. That is a gray 1986 Chevy S-10 pickup. If you see that vehicle you should call the Newport Police department.
