Summer Wells Search Is One Week Old

Rescue agencies from other states are now involved in the search for Summer Wells in Hawkins County…in fact the TBI says there are now 70 agencies from across Tennessee and other states that are looking for the 5 year old…including the FBI’s Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team. Tim Coup who is heading the ground search efforts said that the rugged terrain in the Beech Creek area is impeding their efforts, and the rain today will not help in those efforts. The Hawkins County sheriff has asked property owners, especially in that area to do a sweep of their properties…outbuildings, sheds…for any signs of the girl. the TBI said it has not uncovered any credible evidence from the over 137 tips they have had to suggest why Summer disappeared, While they can not rule out an abduction…they say it’s possible she wandered off and is still lost and afraid. Tim Coup has said they will not stop searching until she is found. Last Wednesday the TBI issued a statewide Amber Alert for Summer Wells.
