Second Harvest Food Bank Announces New CEO
Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee has announced Rachael Ellis as the organization’s next Chief Executive Officer. Ellis has been with Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee for more than a decade, helping lead major organizational growth. That includes taking the Second Harvet Food Bank from approximately $3 million in annual revenue in 2019 to more than $12 million in 2025.
Ellis has also helped lead the organization through major crises and disaster response efforts. Those includes the COVID-19 response operations, Hurricane Helene recovery, severe winter weather events, and regional emergency food distributions in the 18 counties they serve in East Tennessee, including Cocke, Sevier & Jefferson County. Second Harveast will begin a Mobile Pantry in Hamblen County this month on June 18.
Rachael Ellis will take over as CEO following the retirement of longtime CEO Elaine Streno on June 27th.
The next Mobile Food Pantry in Cocke County will be on June 23.
