Snow Tubing Tickets Go On Sale Friday

Warm temperatures continue today and tomorrow…kind of early to be thinking about snow…but that is exactly what they are thinking about at Ober Gatlinburg. Officials with Ober Gatlinburg say that snow production for Tubing Park is already underway although the temperatures this week reached 80 degrees at times. The park uses a refrigerated snow making system to create snowfall even when the temperature is well above freezing. Tubing Park traditionally opens earlier than the ski slopes because they require much more coverage than the tubing park does. Tickets to Snow tubing go on sale tomorrow, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. They will be offered online only.

Ober Gatlinburg says the ski and snowboard slopes will open after the they receive plenty of cold nights in a row, they say that usually happens in early-mid December.
