Man Accused Of Second Degree Murder In Johnson City Arraigned
The man accused of shooting another man in a bar in Johnson City Friday, was in court Monday afternoon for an arraignment. Prosecutors told the court that Jonathan Murphey walked into the Titon Street Pub and quickly got into an argument with another man…Murphey then pulled a handgun from the front pocket of his hoodie and fired three shots….striking the victim Ryan Nicholson in the face 2-3 times. Murphey then ran out the back door…police found a 9mm Glock nearby that appears to be the murder weapon. Murphey was already on probation for firing a gun in a bar earlier this year…his bond was ordered to remain at $260,000.
Another man was arraigned Monday afternoon as well in that case…Demaquiste Fugh is accused of taking a Smith & Wesson .380 off of the victim and hiding it in his apartment. Police arrested Fugh Friday evening for tampering with evidence. Murphey told the court he is working on getting a lawyer, while fugh is being represented by the public defender’s office. Both men will be back in court on Monday, November 1st.
