Woman Pays Bill With Play Money

Newport police were called to the business “Check Into Cash” on Cosby Highway after they were paid with a fake $100 bill. Employee Haley Wolfenbarger told officers that a customer, 58 year old Connie Henderson, had come in to pay on her account. After Henderson left, Wolfenbarger noticed a $100 bill was fake as “Play Money” was printed on the bill. Check Into Cash later called the Newport Police Department to report that Ms. Henderson had returned and made good the fake $100 bill. She stated her granddaughter had placed the “Play Money” in her purse and she wound up using it by accident.
