Road Rage Incident on Cosby Hwy

A case of road rage Friday evening in Newport. 35 year old Michael Lizotte told police he was riding in the passenger seat of his girlfriend’s car on Cosby Hwy when a gold Chevrolet Suburban almost struck them on the side at Templin Street. Lizotte said they followed the suburban to the intersection with Heritage Blvd., where he rolled down his window and told the suburban’s male driver that he almost hit them. Lizotte said the man got out of his vehicle and punched him while he was siting in the car…the man then got back in the Chevy Suburban and took off getting on Interstate 40 West. A tag number on that Suburban came back registered to a 35 year old Adam East…but Lizotte told police the man who assaulted him was between 50 and 60 years of age. Police are trying to identify who the driver was.
