Plane That Penetrated Washington DC Airspace Originated In NE Tennessee
The plane that flew into Washington DC restricted airspace on Sunday took off from northeast Tennessee. Officials say that small plane took off from the Elizabethton airport Sunday, bound for McArthur Airport on Long Island, NY. The plane took a strange flight path into Washington DC airspace, which caused F-16’s to scramble and investigate. The pilot was unconscious and did not respond to attempts to contact them. That plane crashed into a mountainess area near Montebello, Virginia Sunday afternoon. The crash site was found around 8pm last night. The NTSB is investigating the plane crash. The Elizabethton airport made headlines a couple years ago when Dale Earnhardt Jr’s plane crash landed at the airport in August of 2019.
