Man Finds Woman Hid In Carport

A Newport man got a surprise Monday night when he went outside and found an 18 year old woman in his carport. The 64 year old man told police he discovered Anjelina Jenkins curled up in a fetal position in the corner of his carport. Jenkins, who at first would not speak to police later stated she had been kicked out of her aunt’s house and had not place to go. Further investigation showed showed that Jenkins had been made to leave the home after she had allegedly showed violence towards children in her aunt’s home. The man who owned the carport told officers he did not feel comfortable with her in his carport, so Jenkins was arrested for criminal trespass and taken to the Cocke Co. jail.
