Arrest Made In Theft From Eastern Plating

A man who lives in Morristown but works in Newport at Eastern Plating has been arrested for stealing from his employer. Brett Johnson was caught on video footage stealing ten bronze carriers on Sunday and hiding them under a rug that he then put in his SUV. Those carriers were valued at around $2,000 and a warrant was issued for Johnson’s arrest for theft over $1,000. Cocke County authorities notified Hamblen County deputies who went to Johnson’s Morristown residence on Holly Tree Lane and placed him under arrest. Yesterday afternoon, Hamblen County transferred Brett Johnson into the custody of Cocke County authorities at a location in White Pine…Johnson was then transported back to Cocke County and booked into the Cocke County jail.
