Cocke County Attorney Charged with DUI In Greene County
For the second time in about a month, a Cocke County attorney finds herself in legal trouble. According to the Greene County Sheriff’s office, Charlotte Leibrock of Newport showed up at the Greene County jail on Sunday to speak with a client. Jail staff say that Liebrock appeared to be under the influence.
After leaving the jail, A Greeneville police officer noticed Leibrock driving 10 miles under the speed limit and watched her cross the center line five times. She was then pulled over and the officer stated Leibrock was stumbling over her words and had erratic movements. Field sobriety tests were given of which Leibrock performed poorly. She was then arrested and taken to the Greene County Detention Center where she was charged with driving under the influence and violation of implied consent plus driving left of the center of the road.
This is the latest episode of trouble for Leibrock as last month she showed up to see a client at the Cocke County Jail Annex in Dandridge and appeared to be intoxicated. She faces charges in Jefferson County for that incident.
