Cocke County Partnership Drops Lawsuit

On Wednesday, we told you that the Cocke County Partnership had filed suit against a member of the County Legislative Body and his wife. That lawsuit is now being dropped. The lawsuit named CLB Commissioner Rick Vassar and his wife Cindy as defendants as well as two others who were listed as John and Jane Doe. The lawsuit stemmed from accusations that former Cocke County Partnership HR Manager and Director of Finance Sommer White had resigned her position with the partnership amidst claims she wrote bonus checks to herself. White allegedly took a hard drive belonging to the Cocke County Partnership with her as she left. White then allegedly shared information with CLB Member Rick Vassar in an attempt to undermine the Cocke County Partnership.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Executive Board of the Cocke County Partnership met in a special meeting in which they voted to drop the lawsuit against Vassar and his wife. However, a lawsuit that has been brought against former HR Manager and Director of Finance Sommer White will continue.
